The Need

Modern house design almost excludes the entry of fresh air to your home – great for conserving energy but unhealthy for your home.

With increasing levels of insulation and air-tightness, the importance of air change rates also increases. In heated or cooled buildings, fresh air available from opening windows is no longer a desirable option due to energy lost in the escaping air and that required for conditioning the incoming fresh air.

In July 2007 the Government's Building A Greener Future: Policy Statement announced that all new homes will be zero carbon from 2016. Fresh air, supplied at room temperature, with no unnecessary energy use will play a vital role in helping to achieve the Governments targets whilst maintaining a healthy environment.
