Presently MHX is being fitted on a bespoke basis, prototype panels are operating in both new and retrofitted buildings. We are investigating possible avenues for full scale production and also for further research and development, including the viability of hybrid systems with the inclusion of evaporative cooling, using harvested rainwater (these and solar pv would mate perfectly with an MHX roof system) also, with its low pressure loss, passive ventilation may be possible.
A patent has now been granted in the UK and is being applied for elsewhere around the world.
Progression into a commercial product, that can be fitted in new and existing buildings (between roof trusses, rafters or incorporated into SIP's panels) and having sufficient heat exchange area to supply their ventilation needs, will help create energy efficient comfortable and airtight environments.
Furthermore with production underway the dream is that MHX could become the industry standard for building ventilation.
